Heart on my Sleeve

By Eva Porter and Joe Corbett

I’d like to keep some secrets please

And I’d like less transparency

But that’s not happening

I keep revealing

Tell you what I think

And what I’m feeling

At least I won’t keep you guessing

No games to play, no pretending

I’m an open book

It’s easy to read me

Worth a second look

I’m here if you need me

I wear my heart upon my sleeve

I’ll let you know what I believe

That’s how it is with me

Take it or leave it

You get what you see

Better believe it

There’ll be no lies, no hypocrisy

I’ll do my best, try honestly

I know I talk too much

And that can’t be easy

But I’ve got the touch

For giving completely

Let down your guard, your boundaries

Allow yourself to be free

I’m a little obvious

Wish I was more cryptic

And more mysterious

But you’d miss the real me

I wear my heart upon my sleeve

I’ll let you know what I believe

That’s how it is with me

Take it or leave it

You get what you see

Better believe it

I wear my heart upon my sleeve
