Jealousy

By Eva Porter and Joe Corbett

I don’t have to like her

Just because you do

Oh I know she’s your friend

Well, I’m so pleased for you

When you’re lying in my bed

Is she there inside your head?

Wish I could slip into your dreams

I’m lying at your side

My eyes are open wide

I’m praying it’s not how it seems

She’s just your friend? Well I’m your woman

Baby, that’s how it must be

I think she’d better go

We need to be alone

Baby, it's time to get real

Maybe it’s plain old envy

I’m sorry but that’s how I feel

I won’t get to know her

Don’t you ask me to

Oh I know she’s your friend

But what am I to do?

I don’t want to be a bitch

But I get this sudden itch

To tear out her hair when she’s here

She’s hanging on your words

She really is absurd

I don’t want her anywhere near

She’s just your friend? Well I’m your woman

Baby, that’s how it must be

I think she’d better go

We need to be alone

This wasn’t part of the deal

Baby, it’s plain old envy

I’m sorry but that’s how I feel
