Things Are Looking Up

By Eva Porter and Joe Corbett

My favourite flowers are tulips in the spring

My favourite colour is indigo

I’m much more of a dog person, although I don’t mind cats

And I love my banged-up Beetle, not some fancy car on show

Isn’t it great when things are looking up?

And isn’t great when you have a little luck?

Don’t you find some peace of mind

Though everything’s gone wrong?

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel

When the day is done

I love Saturday mornings, lying in bed

Watching silly cartoons with the kids

And stupid jokes that make you laugh too loud

Gums n’ all, doubled over with a stitch

Isn’t it great when things are looking up?

And isn’t great when you have a little luck?

Don’t you find some peace of mind

Though everything’s gone wrong?

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel

When the day is done

I love a cup of tea and chatting with the girls

And I could live on chocolate and nothing else in the world

Old shows in Technicolor make me wish

I was living in the thirties before the satellite dish

Isn’t it great when things are looking up?

And isn’t great when you have a little luck?

Don’t you find some peace of mind

Though everything’s gone wrong?

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel

When the day is done
